Great Falls Park in the Fall

 The smooth path
Old rocks from the locks on right side
 Sunlight peering through the trees
 Bright yellow
 feeling like I'm dodging boulders
Peaceful path
More of the locks of the Patowmack Canal (completed in 1803) designed to bypass the Great Falls of the Potomac. The river drops nearly 80 feet in less than a mile.
 fall awaits across the bridge
 Downriver from the falls
 More of the path
 boulders
 multicolored tree
 Great Falls in the fall

bridge on the Maryland side of the river
 colorful tree
once a tree, now a stump
